Places to Visit

Morzine's traditional cultures are very much alive today.  A free illustrated map showing places of interest that form part of the local heritage within Morzine and its immediate surroundings is available from the Tourist Office.  Other visits available are;

Cheese Dairy and Stable - Tel: 04 50 79 12 39Discover the A-Z of cheese-making, from milking the cows to forming the cheese. Tour of a stable in the Nants hamlet; Tuesdays and Thursday at 10am. Cheese making and guide tour of the cheese maturing cellars; Wednesdays and Thursday at 9am, Daily afternoon visits from 3pm-7pm. Morzine co-operative dairy (route de la Plagne)

Slate Mine Tour - Tel: 04 50 79 12 21. Slate miner Franck Buet leads you on a trip to discover the history of slate mining in Morzine which is over two centuries old and the technical aspects of his work. Guided tours on Fridays at 10.30am (in the season). €5 per adult / €3 per child

Guided Tour of the Old Town - Accompanied by a Savoie heritage guide, discover the Morzine's old 'Bourg' and how the village has developed over the centuries (dwellings, lifestyle, traditions, historical moments). Tour (small fee) Thursday at 10am in the season. Start from the covered part of the church square

Horse-drawn Sleigh Rides - Large choice of trips around Morzine: tours of the old town and the different hamlets or ride up to Lake Montriond. Prices from €15 to €80 starting from the Tourist Office Square.
